Are UV Water Purifiers Worth It?
Different types of water purifiers are introduced in the market that are able to provide you with clean, fresh, and delicious water within seconds. Among various types of purifiers, the most preferred water purifier includes RO (reverse osmosis) water purifier, UV (ultraviolet) water purifier, (ultrafiltration) UF water purifier. All the above water purifiers provide safe drinking water that is free from various types of pollutants that are present in water. In this short article, we will briefly discuss UV water systems.
What is a UV water system and how does it work?
The ultraviolet water system uses special UV lamps that are able to emit UV light of specific wavelengths. The light emitted has the ability to disturb the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) of the microorganisms that are present in the water. The wavelengths that are emitted from the UV lamps are known as germicidal frequency or spectrum. 254 nm is the frequency that is required to kill the microorganisms.
If we talk about the working of the UV water system, the water which is to be purified is exposed to ultraviolet lights. Which assaults the genetic code of the microbes and then rearranges the RNA/DNA of the microbes. By rearranging the genetic sequence, the microorganisms are not able to reproduce or play their function. In this way, the dead microorganism can also infect other microbes that come in contact with them. Similarly, 99.99% of microbes are destroyed by this act.
Advantages of UV water system:
We can obtain purified water without adding any type of chemicals to the water with the help of a UV water system. A UV water system is an outstanding solution to purify water in bulk quantities. The water obtained from the UV water system can be used for drinking, cooking, bathing, etc.
