What is a UV water system and how does it work?

The ultraviolet water system uses special UV lamps that are able to emit UV light of specific wavelengths. The light emitted has the ability to disturb the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) of the microorganisms that are present in the water. The wavelengths that are emitted from the UV lamps are known as germicidal frequency or spectrum. 254 nm is the frequency that is required to kill the microorganisms.

If we talk about the working of the UV water system, the water which is to be purified is exposed to ultraviolet lights. Which assaults the genetic code of the microbes and then rearranges the RNA/DNA of the microbes. By rearranging the genetic sequence, the microorganisms are not able to reproduce or play their function.  In this way, the dead microorganism can also infect other microbes that come in contact with them. Similarly, 99.99% of microbes are destroyed by this act.
